Another valuable ‘Oral Ηistory’ in the Library

The Kalabaka Library continues to be an important space for promoting local history and cultural heritage through the program ‘Tell Your Story!’ aimed at collecting personal narratives and experiences from people who lived through significant historical events or preserved memories from the everyday life of past decades. In this context, on Friday, January 31, we had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Kostas Zalavras.

Mr. Zalavras shared stories and personal experiences from his hometown, the village of Kastania, and conveyed memories, traditions, and images from a different time. As one of the survivors of the village’s Holocaust, he vividly described all that he saw and experienced.

We sincerely thank Mr. Kostas Zalavras for the interview he gave us, his family who accompanied him, as well as the President of the Kastania Local Community, Mr. Giorgos Koffas, and the Police Officer, Mrs. Niki Koffa, for their support in our work.
