With the keynote speech by the Minister of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou, the lecture series entitled “Artificial Intelligence – Year 2026” was inaugurated on Friday, January 23. The series is organized by the Library in collaboration with the Association of Greek Librarians and Information Scientists (EEBEP).
The event was welcomed by the President of the Library, Ms. Dimoula, who emphasized the importance of this initiative and the role of libraries as hubs for dialogue, knowledge, and innovation in modern society.
During his speech, the Minister clearly outlined the contemporary challenges and significant opportunities emerging from the rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence. This was followed by a productive dialogue with the audience, focusing on issues of concern to modern society, such as the ethical dimensions of technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
The event was honored by the presence of local authority representatives, as well as His Eminence the Metropolitan of Stagi and Meteora, Theoklitos. Their participation confirmed the significance of the initiative and their support for actions that promote knowledge, innovation, and social cohesion.
The event concluded with the Vice President of the Library, Mr. Iliopoulos, who expressed his warm thanks to the Minister for his presence and his contribution to the launch of this lecture series.
