On Sunday, October 20th, we had the pleasure of hosting the well-known journalist Sia Kosioni at the Library, where she presented her children’s book titled “A Different Story.” As she explained, the inspiration for writing the book came from a visit to her son’s school, where she was asked to talk about her profession. She decided that the best way to introduce children to the world of news was by telling a story. Thus, she wrote this tale, which highlights the power and importance of true stories and reliable information.
During her presentation, Ms. Kosioni creatively guided the children into the world of journalism, emphasizing that caring about what happens around you—whether at home, in your neighborhood, in your city, or in the world—helps develop mutual understanding, empathy, tolerance, and solidarity.
The event was introduced by Mr. Apostolos Iliopoulos, Vice President of KDK, and Ms. Theopi Katsiamani, Library Director. At the end of the presentation, the beloved journalist engaged in a conversation with the young readers and signed copies of her book.
We sincerely thank Ms. Kosioni for accepting our invitation, as well as Le Bee Publications and the Tsopelakos Bookstore for their collaboration.
