Educational and cultural activities are offered in the Library, the communities comprising Meteora Municipality, as well as at a national and international level.
The Library, in collaboration with the Cultural Association “Ta Meteora,” invites you on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 6:00 PM to the presentation of the book by Ms. Zina Zografou-Karachristou, titled “Families: Kalabaka, Donta, Zografou, Politicians and Painters in Thessaly from the 18th to the 20th Century.”
Ms. Zina Zografou-Karachristou is an Archaeologist-Historian from Karditsa who, after years of research, has delivered a multifaceted book divided into three parts:
The first part focuses on the Kalabaka family, relatives of her mother from Kalabaka.
The second part centers on her paternal ancestors from Samarina, iconographers Dimitris and Argyris Dontas, and Elias and Theofilos Zografos.
The third part is entirely dedicated to her grandmother’s elder brother, Zois Donta Zografou, Nikolaos Dontas (1877–1940), an iconographer, photographer, and portrait artist with a rich body of work in Karditsa and other parts of Thessaly.
