The Library continues this summer to offer free screenings for open-air cinema lovers. Screenings for children and adults begin on Thursday, June 13, with the children’s movie “Mavka: The Forest Song” by Oleh Malamuzh and Oleksandra Ruban.
Plot
Mavka is a forest nymph and newly chosen Forest’s Keeper. Her main mission is to protect the Forest and its sacred Heart – the Wellspring of Life – from any attack or invasion, including humans.
Lucas is a genuine village boy, with a great love for music, who channels his talent into his wooden flute while dreaming of dedicating his life to this passion. Lucas’ music creates something unique: Mavka and Lucas meet and fall in love. From the beginning, their relationship faces difficulties, but the obstacles become even greater when voluptuous Kylina arrives with the sole purpose of obtaining the Wellspring of Life (selfishly hoping to stay young and beautiful forever). Will Mavka manage to save the forest? Will Lucas’ music work wonders and save love? Will their two worlds be able to unite against evil?
The screening will be at 21:00, at the Library courtyard.
