The Library is pleased and honored to host Dr. Maria Efthymiou, Emeritus Professor of History of the University of Athens, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
The topic of the speech is: "The strong points of Hellenism in the approx. 3500 years of its recorded history".
MARIA EFTHYMIOU was born in Larissa in 1955. She studied History at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Sorbonne. She is Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Athens, where she taught from 1981 to 2022. Since 2007, she has been teaching World and Greek History courses for free throughout Greece. These courses have covered over 10,000 teaching hours and have been attended by tens of thousands of people. He has written and edited six history books. About 85 of her articles and contributions have been published in scientific conferences and History magazines in Greece and abroad.
In 2013 he was honored with the Award for Outstanding University Teaching in memory of V. Xanthopoulos - St. Spiritual.
