Communication in French Language

The educational program Children’s French Reading Club is addressed to primary school children. The lessons are designed to help young students gain confidence and fluency in speaking, from learning grammar rules to perfecting pronunciation.  During the program, French fairy tales are read by the teacher, Mrs. Vasiliki Akratous, and then a short discussion follows, so that the children become familiar with the French language. Children enrich their vocabulary, learn to read, speak and write, through educational activities. They learn basic words, phrases, questions that they would ask children of their age, while at the same time getting to know a vibrant and rich culture with the use of interactive whiteboard and audiovisual material.

The educational program Basic Communication Skills in French for Adults is implemented in collaboration with the Association of Twin Cities of Kalampaka and is addressed to beginners and advanced students who want to enhance their knowledge. French is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world with approximately 275 million speakers, of whom 77 million are native speakers. It is the official language in 29 countries with a notable influence on philosophical, literary and social movements for several centuries.

Through the program, participants obtain skills that allow them to travel comfortably in a French-speaking country using everyday speech, become familiar with customs and French culture. They learn the basic French language elements that will make it easier for them to communicate, work and move around.
