Project: “Strengthening Brown Bear Sustainability in Greece,” organized by the University of Thessaly

The Laboratory of Microbiology and Parasitology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Thessaly, in collaboration with the “Vyssinokipos” Art & Education Lab, is organizing awareness-raising events about the brown bear for primary school students.

In the framework of the European project “Life Bear Smart Corridors: Enhancing the viability of Brown Bears in Central Italy and Greece through the development of coexistence corridors,” various actions are being implemented, including brief informative presentations and experiential workshops.

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, they will visit the Library, where students from the 5th grade of the 2nd Primary School of Kalabaka and the 2nd and 3rd grades of the 5th Primary School of Kalabaka will participate in a puppet show. The performance, titled “Quiet… the brown bear is about to wake up,” will be presented by the “Vyssinokipos” Puppet Theater Stage. Interactive games with the students will follow.
