Educational Activities in Remote Schools of the Municipality as part of the Library’s Outreach Efforts

On Friday, April 12th, an educational program took place at the Oxynia Gymnasium featuring the Museum Kit ‘Traveling with Ioannis Kapodistrias’ from the Kapodistrias Museum. Students had the opportunity to journey back to the era of Greece’s First Governor and learn about his life and work.

Following the exhibition at the Museum, the museum kit transported students to 18th-century Corfu, 19th-century Europe, and the Balkans during the revolutions and the establishment of the Greek state. Through replicas of objects and documents from the Museum’s collection and the digital archive of Ioannis Kapodistrias, children learned about his studies, the art of diplomacy, and his political career. They became acquainted with the significant reforms he promoted for the reorganization of the nascent state and the establishment of the legal framework.

We thank Oxynea Gymnasium for their collaboration, as well as the Kapodistrias Museum for lending the Museum Kit.
