Visit of the Second Grade of the 3rd Primary School of Kalambaka

On Wednesday, February 28th, we had the pleasure of welcoming the students of the second grade of the 3rd Primary School of Kalambaka. Our little friends were guided through the children’s section of the Library, learned about programs tailored to their age group, and explored the children’s collection. They learned about the American librarian Melvil Dewey and the Decimal Classification System he developed, while also getting familiar with searching for books in the library’s online catalog (opac.gr).

Next, we had a reading session of the children’s books “The Fate of Fausto” and “The Three Little Wolves.” The first one is by the award-winning author Oliver Jeffers, which talks about what happens when desire leads to selfishness, arrogance, and self-destruction. The second one is by the beloved author Eugenios Trivizas, a parody adaptation of the classic fairy tale “The Three Little Pigs,” delivering the message of love that conquers all.

Finally, the children played with the robot mTiny, getting an introduction to the world of robotics and programming.

We thank the 3rd Primary School for the visit.
