On Wednesday, March 13th, we had the pleasure of welcoming the students of the Sixth Grade of the 1st Primary School of Kalambaka to the Library, with the aim of experiencing firsthand the technology of 3D scanning and printing. In commemoration of the anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821, the students used the Library’s 3D scanner to scan a bust of the freedom fighter Papa-Thymios Vlahavas, who was a prominent figure in the struggle for independence.
The students were thrilled with the use of the scanner and the digital model that emerged from the scanning process, while also learning about the processing of the digital file.
During their next visit, the students will have the opportunity to witness the printing process of the digital model on the Library’s 3D printer up close.
