Captivated the young audience, ‘Mavka, the Forest Elf’

On Thursday, June 13, the screening of the children’s film “Mavka: The Forest Elf” took place. This Ukrainian animated fairy tale is inspired by the 1912 work “The Forest Song” by the famous Ukrainian feminist, activist, and poet Lesya Ukrainka.

Our young friends were thrilled with the protagonist, the kind-hearted Mavka, who, as the guardian of the Forest and its sacred heart, manages to unite elves and humans with the unique weapon of love. The film teaches the importance of the environment, the harmony that must exist between humans and nature, and the fury when these balances are lost.
