On Monday, March 30, the Library welcomed popular author Spyros Petroulakis on the occasion of the release of his new book titled “Katharmos” (Catharsis).
Prior to the presentation, the Library’s children’s podcast team conducted an interview with Mr. Petroulakis, who gladly accepted their invitation. During the event, the author spoke about the inspiration behind the novel, which is based on true events, deeply moving the audience. Through the plot, readers are invited to uncover well-hidden secrets that shed light on profound social and human dimensions.
The evening was musically enriched by the “Efxeinos Leschi” of Pontians and Asia Minor Greeks of Trikala, creating a unique atmosphere. Excerpts from the book were read by Ms. Vasiliki Michou and Ms. Julia Samara, contributing to a vivid and direct portrayal of the work’s essence.
The event was also honored by the presence of nuns from the Holy Monastery of Panagia Mesitria and Saint Nicolas in Avra, further enhancing the warm atmosphere of the night. The evening concluded with an engaging and lively discussion between the author and the public, followed by a book signing.
