The annual national conference of AGLIS was successfully held at the Kalabaka Library

Kalabaka Library, in collaboration with the Municipality of Meteora and under the auspices of the Region of Thessaly – Regional Unit of Trikala, had the pleasure and honor of hosting the Annual Conference of the Association of Greek Librarians and Information Scientists (AGLIS), which took place on June 11, 12, and 13 at the Kalabaka Library.

Opening addresses were delivered by the Minister of Digital Governance, Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou; the Deputy Regional Governor of Trikala, Ms. Chrysa Ntinti; the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Mr. Nikolaos Tsioukas; the President of the Library, Ms. Katerina Dimoula-Merriam; and the President of AGLIS, Ms. Anthi Katsirikou.

With the theme “The Democracy of Knowledge and the Dangers of Misinformation,” the conference highlighted the challenges of our time and the crucial role of libraries in providing reliable information.

The event brought together information scientists, academics, and professionals from across Greece for three days of fruitful dialogue, exchange of experiences, and promotion of best practices.

The Library extends its heartfelt thanks to AGLIS for their trust, as well as to everyone who contributed to the successful organization of the conference.

The next annual conference will be hosted by the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation in Piraeus.
