A Living Testimony about Kalambaka: Mr. Theodoros Karakantas Remembers the City after the War

The Library enriches its collection with yet another valuable oral testimony from Mr. Theodoros Karakantas, who took us back to the difficult yet solidarity-filled days of the early post-war period.

With vivid storytelling, he described the hardships, the daily struggle for survival, and the strong bonds of mutual support, as well as how the city’s residents, through farming, livestock breeding, household work, weaving, and trade, managed to rebuild their lives from the ground up.

Mr. Karakantas’ testimony is a precious contribution to the Library’s “Oral Testimonies” program, an initiative dedicated to preserving our community’s collective memory and intangible cultural heritage.

Those interested in taking part in the program and sharing their own story may contact the Library’s service offices at tel.: 24320.23041-3.
