The online presentation titled “AI and Libraries: Tool or Threat?” was successfully held today, opening a meaningful dialogue on the opportunities and challenges created by Artificial Intelligence in the field of libraries and information.
The keynote speaker of the event was Dr. Aris Meletiou, Head of the General Directorate of Public Administration IT and Communications Infrastructure, who presented modern applications of Artificial Intelligence, focusing on how this new technology can serve as a tool to enhance the work of libraries and information professionals.
The presentation emphasized that Artificial Intelligence does not replace the librarian, but rather strengthens their role. The librarian of the new era evolves into a Knowledge Curator, AI Quality Supervisor, and AI Literacy Educator, ensuring the validity, ethical use, and human-centered approach to information.
We warmly thank Dr. Aris Meletiou for his extremely interesting and well-documented presentation, as well as everyone who participated in the event.
Those interested can watch the talk on the official Library YouTube channel.
