The online presentation titled “21st Century Choices: Natural or Artificial Justice,” featuring President of the Court of Appeals and poet Mr. Dimitris Orfanidis, was successfully held today.
During the presentation, the key ethical, legal, and social challenges arising from the rapid growth and unchecked use of Artificial Intelligence in modern society were highlighted.
Special emphasis was placed on the role AI can and should play in the field of Justice, as well as the limits that must be established during its implementation. Through a substantive and well-documented approach, Mr. Orfanidis raised critical questions regarding the relationship between technology and the administration of Justice, emphasizing that AI can serve as a supportive tool, but it can never replace the institutional and human role of the judge.
Among other topics, the discussion underscored the need for a responsible, transparent, and human-centric use of Artificial Intelligence, respecting the fundamental principles of the rule of law, human dignity, and the guarantees of a fair trial.
