The online talk titled “Artificial Intelligence and Man: Ethical and Theological Dimensions” was successfully held on Friday, April 17. The event was co-organized by the Kalampaka Library and the Association of Greek Librarians and Information Scientists as part of the “Year of Artificial Intelligence – 2026” program.
In his presentation, Archimandrite Aristarchos Grekas highlighted the relationship between technological progress and Orthodox anthropology. He emphasized the need to safeguard ethical values in the digital environment and underscored the uniqueness of the human being—as a creation in the image of God—in contrast to intelligent machines. Particular emphasis was placed on the risks that the uncontrolled use of Artificial Intelligence poses to personal freedom and social cohesion.
The event is part of a broader effort to highlight critical issues related to the rapid development of AI and its impact on individuals and society.
