On Friday, May 8, a lecture by Mr. Diomidis Spinellis titled “Artificial Intelligence Transforms Education” was successfully held. The event took place within the framework of the “Year of Artificial Intelligence – 2026” program, implemented by the Library in collaboration with the Association of Greek Librarians and Information Scientists.
During his presentation, Mr. Spinellis analyzed the potential offered by the correct and responsible use of AI in the modern educational process. He presented practical application examples as well as the emerging challenges within the new digital learning environment.
Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of critical thinking, digital literacy, and the pivotal role of educators and libraries in shaping a safe and creative framework for utilizing new technologies.
The event concluded with an open dialogue with the audience, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions, exchange views, and discuss the implications and prospects of AI in education and society at large.
