Another series of literary meetings concluded on Thursday, June 13th, with the members of the Adult Book Club scheduling their next meeting for September!
The topic of the last meeting of this series was the work of Maro Douka, one of the most important authors of contemporary Greek prose. Maro Douka’s riveting narrative impressed the members, but it also posed challenges and provoked thought. They discussed her torrential writing style, her characters, the reflections her work inspires on life, interpretations of happiness, society in general, and the introspection we all undergo at various stages of our lives.
