On Friday, March 22nd, the children’s workshop on the occasion of the anniversary of March 25th took place. The children learned that it is a dual celebration and the significance it holds for all Greeks. They became acquainted with significant events and figures of the Greek Revolution, learned about the message of Archangel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary, and discussed their favorite heroes.
Subsequently, the children learned about the life and work of the first Governor of Greece, Ioannis Kapodistrias, through the museum exhibit “Traveling with Ioannis Kapodistrias” at the Kapodistrias Museum. They held in their hands the metallic pen and tried to mimic his writing style, admired the Great Cross (a gift from Tsar Alexander for his services), and explored places he traveled to himself.
Finally, they created their own constructions depicting the activities of the secret school and traditional costumes, which are an important element of our cultural heritage.
