As part of the “Oral Histories” program implemented by the Library, we would like to thank everyone who has participated so far and invite others who wish to participate.
We would especially like to thank Ms. Vaya Papachristou, Mr. Nikolaos Balatsos, Mr. Panagiotis Karasimos, and Mr. Christos Sdona for granting interviews and audiovisual material.
For example, in Oxynia, we met Mr. Christos Sdona, who worked as a saddlebag maker and described to us the way he made the donkey saddles and the difficulties of the profession. In his personal collection, besides tools, there are also objects used to meet the daily needs of the household, such as vessels for kneading, cauldrons, and blacksmithing components.
The program continues, and collaborators are still visiting villages of the Municipality of Meteora and Trikala to record stories.
Please contact the Library at the telephone numbers 2432023041-3 to express interest.
