On Thursday, February 1st, the meeting of the Adult Book Club took place on the subject of the poetry of the award-winning Yiannis Ritsos. Members learned about his life and the family tragedies that influenced his work, as well as the stimuli he received from other poets, such as Kostas Varnalis. They discussed the great human ideals scattered throughout his work, such as peace, love in the hearts of men, and opposition to war.
They expressed their deep emotion for Yannis Ritsos, who although having lived and suffered from war, still writes abouts the beauties of life.
The next meeting of the Adult Βοοκ Club will be held on Thursday, February 29 at 6:30 p.m.
