On Wednesday, March 27th, we welcomed the 6th grade students of the 4th Primary School of Kalambaka to the Library, so that the students could embark on a journey back in history, to the time of Ioannis Kapodistrias, with the museum kit “Traveling with Ioannis Kapodistrias” from the Kapodistrias Museum.
The young explorers were mentally transported to 18th century Corfu, 19th century Europe, the Balkans of revolutions, and the establishment of the Greek state. Through replicas of objects and documents from the Museum’s collection and the digital archive of Ioannis Kapodistrias, they got to know the magnificent personality of the First Governor of Greece, the deeply human and emotional side of his personality, as revealed through his correspondence with Roxandra, and they admired his dedication to the interests of his homeland.
