On Monday, July 1st, the workshop of the Summer Reading and Creativity Campaign, “The journey is what matters,” took place, with the young readers of the Library becoming explorers and traveling across our beautiful country!
The purpose of the workshop was for children to become familiar with reading a map, identifying useful information about different places, and organizing a trip to a specific destination with intermediate stops. Initially, they were divided into groups, and each group, departing from the town of Kalambaka, randomly selected their final destination on the map. Then, with the help of tourist guides and maps, they tried to calculate the distance in kilometers, the travel time, possible stop points, and of course, landmarks worth visiting. All the children collaborated with each other and were excited about the process, as they discovered new places while traveling through many regions of the country! And most importantly, they learned that it’s the journey that counts, not so much the destination!
The next activity will take place on Tuesday, July 2nd at 12:00 p.m.
