On Monday, August 28, the “Imaginary traces” workshop of the Reading and Creativity 2023 KE took place! The goal of the workshop was for our young readers to discover the places that Alki Zei and George Sari traveled and lived and to understand the importance of travelling for the memory and identity.
Initially, the children identified on the maps the places where the two beloved authors traveled, getting to know them a little better, as well as the social and political conditions that shaped their lives and work. They then had fun playing a game of Bingo and then used their creativity to make a collage map inspired by the works of artist Chris Kenny. Finally, all the children told stories from their summer holidays using a simple rope, a technique quite common in many parts of the world, making storytelling a fun process.
The next workshop will be held on Thursday, September 7 at 11:30 am.
We are waiting for all our little friends!
