The screening of the award-winning film “Man of God”, directed by Yelena Popovic and the actor Aris Servetalis in a unique performance in the role of Saint Nektarios, took place with great success on the afternoon of Saturday, April 9 at the Kalampaka Library. Due to the large participation of the public, the screening took place in parallel in the courtyard of the Library and indoors, at level 0.
The audience lived intensely moving moments and traveled through time watching the life and work of Saint Nektarios, who despite the slanders he received in Alexandria, remained faithful to his principles, continued his wonderful work and was a source of inspiration for many around him. In 1961, forty years after his death, he was proclaimed a Saint by the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
Creator Yelena Popovic says about the message she wants to convey: “Many of us have been faced with injustice, lies, slander and the greatest victory is the one we achieve within ourselves. Nowadays, many are wronged and identified with Saint Nektarios, this simple man who lived among us, who fought with the injustice of those who preach justice, who suffered all his life, but was not defeated. He was a winner and gave an example of how we should live and die. “
The Director and the staff of the Library wish everyone a Happy Easter.
