On Friday, 5 October, we talked via videoconference with Mr. Marko Vaxevanopoulos, curator of the Museum of Geological Formations, who spoke about the creation of Meteora. Then, Assistant Professor of Mineralogy and Petrology at the Agricultural University of Athens, Mr. Ioannis Baziotis, attended the Library and spoke about “The Discovery of Space in the Antarctic Mountains.”

Mr. Baziotis is one of 8 scientists – and the first Greek – chosen in 2017 by NASA for a mission to Antarctica in order to seek, collect and analyze meteorites.

After presenting his book “A Greek in Antarctica,” he showed us some meteorites and discussed with the audience.
