On Monday July 24, a chess meeting for all ages, beginners and advanced players, was organized at the Library, with the cooperation of the Cultural Association “Ta Meteora”.
The tournament started with a short chess briefing and then all the chess lovers who came played each other, after a draw, with a thinking time of 30 minutes.
The event was intended to contribute to the development and dissemination of chess as its benefits are multiple and multi-layered.
For children, chess is known to increase their IQ levels as well as their creativity while for adults it improves decision-making ability as it helps to concentrate better in daily life.
Chess is a fun brain exercise and a great hobby with an impact on our lifelong mental health that can definitely benefit from it.
