Elizabeth Melas-Athanasopoulou, Professor of Linguistics at the Department of English Language and Literature of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, visited the Kalambaka Library on Tuesday, June 11, where she presented a speech on the issue of dying languages and dialects, focusing on her local research into the life and tradition of the Kalash of the Himalayas.
After Mrs. Mela’s speech, visual material relating to the Kalashi residences, the valley where they live, their daily life, their customs and annual celebrations were shown.
