On Wednesday 10/25, the action “Silence… the brown bear will wake up” was held by the Microbiology & Parasitology Laboratory of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Thessaly and the Vyssinokipos Art & Education Workshop for the students of the 2nd and 3rd grade of Kalambaka 1st Primary School .
The action took place within the framework of the European project “Strengthening the sustainability of brown bears in Central Italy and Greece, through the development of coexistence corridors with humans” and included a puppet show by the “Vyssinokipos” Puppet Theater and interactive games with students.
The purpose of the action was for the children to learn that the brown bear belongs to the species threatened with extinction and to raise awareness of wildlife management and the natural environment. Educational and souvenir materials were distributed to the little students, who enjoyed the show and were excited about the omnivorous mammal with its huge body and extraordinary capabilities!
We would like to thank the University of Thessaly and the 1st Primary School of Kalambaka for the cooperation.
