Reading Marathon for International French Language Day on Wednesday, March 27th at the Library

On March 20th, International French Language Day, millions of people around the world celebrate their ties to France through the French language. As part of the cultural and educational events held worldwide every March, this year a “Reading Marathon” in French will take place at the Kalambaka Library on Wednesday, March 27th at 17:00.

The purpose of the event is to show that French is a language spoken by Greeks like so many others around the world—a language that has inspired numerous internationally renowned writers and philosophers, a language that embodies the principles of equality, solidarity, and democracy, a language used as a means of expression by countless scientists, a language that maintains its vitality, an international language of communication, and a language that contributes to the production of new knowledge.

We invite you to participate in our marathon by reading poetry, especially poetry related to sports in light of the Olympic Games taking place this year in Paris.

The Twin Cities Association of Kalambaka and the Association of French Language Teachers of Public Education of the Trikala Prefecture in collaboration with the Library.
