As part of its educational initiatives, Kalambaka Library is getting ready to welcome the 3rd and 4th grade students of the 4th Primary School of Kalambaka for a journey into ancient culinary culture, guided by the Museum Kit “Nutrition in Ancient Greece” from the Museum of Cycladic Art.

These older primary students will delve deeper into the “Mediterranean Triad” (wheat, olive oil, and wine), study ancient methods of food preparation and preservation, and explore the cultural significance of ancient symposia. Through examining replica vessels and critically comparing ancient habits with the modern Mediterranean diet, the children will trace the roots of our current dietary traditions.

We look forward to hosting the students and teachers of the 4th Primary School for another day of hands-on discovery at the Library!
