Screening of Yannis Smaragdis’ Film “Kapodistrias”

On Thursday, September 17, at 20:30, the film Kapodistrias (2025), written and directed by Yannis Smaragdis, will be screened in the courtyard of the Library.

The film tells the story of Ioannis Kapodistrias’ turbulent journey, from his time as a top diplomat and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Empire to his taking over the governance of liberated Greece.

Kapodistrias is portrayed as a tragic historical figure—a man who sacrificed his personal happiness and, ultimately, his very life for his vision of Greece and the creation of a modern state.

Antonis Myriagkos stars in the lead role of Ioannis Kapodistrias, alongside Finbar Lynch, Tasos Halkias, Maximos Moumouris, Nikorestis Chaniotakis, and other notable actors.
