Library invites you to a timely online lecture on the rapid developments and integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into our daily lives.

Artificial Intelligence is no longer a theoretical discussion about the future. It is already here, horizontally redefining education, work, the economy, healthcare, as well as fields like philosophy and ethics. As these changes occur at speeds that often exceed the human capacity for assimilation, society tends to view AI in a Manichean way: either as the ultimate good or as the ultimate threat.

The purpose of this event is to map out this new landscape. Through a structured Q&A format and using simple, non-technical language, the core applications of AI will be analyzed, providing attendees with the tools to understand and actively engage with the tectonic shifts of our era.

Keynote Speaker: Konstantinos Chatzisavvas, Experienced Researcher and Adjunct Lecturer at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Western Macedonia, as well as Research & Development Manager at MSENSIS S.A.

Konstantinos Chatzisavvas works as a Solutions Architect and Head of Research & Development (R&D) in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector. His core expertise focuses on innovation management, as well as the design and development of algorithms, systems, and solutions for organizations and enterprises. He specializes in integrating Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technologies, with an emphasis on Natural Language Processing (NLP), Image Processing, Data Analytics, and predictive modeling. Additionally, he is responsible for the implementation of national and European research and development projects.

In parallel, he serves as an Adjunct Lecturer and Experienced Researcher in Higher Education (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki – AUTh, International Hellenic University – IHU, University of Western Macedonia – UOWM). His primary research interests include Quantum Information Processing (quantum computing and quantum computers) and the applications of Quantum Mechanics, Information and Complexity Theory, as well as the applications of Machine Learning in Physics and Engineering. In the past, he has worked as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Cambridge (UK) and the Czech Technical University in Prague (Czech Republic).

Through his work, he aims to bridge the gap between research and practical application, highlighting the potential of technology and promoting its responsible use for the benefit of society and science.
