Children’s Book Presentation

Author and actor Zisis Papaioannou will visit the Library to present his book Basilica, The Magic Echo of Epidaurus on Thursday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m. This is the story of the little Basilica, who, in her dreams, discovers … echo, unfolding and gigantic, revealing another world to her! She wonders who could hear her own echo … With the power of her voice she discovers her own sound world, a world full of echoes. Her dream is realized. Later, she enters the home of the Doctor of Antiquity, Asclepius. Her acclamations flood the whole ancient theater and, happily now, finds the answer: these well-structured, stone-walled, long-standing positions that withstand the passage of time are the cause of exquisite acoustics that make her words heard everywhere! The children will hear excerpts, learn about ancient Greek culture and discover the book’s activities.
