Ioannis Baziotis, Professor of Mineralogy and Geology at the Agricultural University of Athens, will be at the Library on Friday, October 5 at 6 p.m. to give a lecture on “Discovering Space in the Mountain of Antarctica.” Mr. Baziotis was one of 8 (and the first Greek) researchers chosen by NASA in 2017 for a mission in Antarctica where he looked, collected and analyzed meteorite rocks.
Moreover, he will present his book Enas Elinas stin Antarctici [A Greek in Antarctica]. Afterwards, we will connect via teleconference with Mr. Markos Vaxevanopoulos, who will briefly discuss the geology of Meteora.
