French Movie Screening: Les malheurs de Sophie

The Library in collaboration with the French Institute of Larissa is launching a series of free film screenings aimed at promoting French. The films will be aimed at all ages and will be screened within the Library, observing the measures of social distancing. We continue with the screening of the children’s film Sophie’s Misfortunes on Tuesday, August 3 at 6:00 p.m.

A few words about the film:

From her castle, young Sophie can’t resist the temptation of the forbidden and what she loves most of all is to get up to no good with her cousin Paul. When her parents decide to go to America, Sophie is delighted. A year later, she’s back in France with her horrible stepmother, Madame Fichini. But Sophie will be able to count on her two friends, model little girls, and their mother, Madame de Fleurville to escape from her stepmother’s clutches.
