Watch the solar sphere LIVE through the Library’s telescope!

The spring equinox this year falls on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, and marks the beginning of spring. On this day the Sun is perpendicular to the Earth’s equator and the length of the day is approximately equal to that of the night. The 1st High School of Kalampaka will participate in the action organized by the Laboratory Centers of Natural Sciences of Serres, Pieria, Laconia, Kos and Thesprotia, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs and the Panhellenic Association of EKFE Managers (PANEKFE). The Library of Kalampaka will assist and participate in this effort with its telescope during the experiment, so that students can safely observe (through a special filter) the sun from the schoolyard.
