The guide, Mr. Kostas Kotsanas, from the newly established Museum of Ancient Greek Technology in Athens will guide us through the exhibition Ancient Greece: The Origins of Technologies. Through the triptych science-myth-everyday life, visitors will enjoy from the Library’s premises an original educational and museological experience full of alternations and strong stimuli, based on interaction, participation, and discovery approach. From the automatic hydraulic clock of Κtesibios to the Antikythera Mechanism, the visitor realizes that the foundations for many conquests of modern civilization, such as steam and gas propulsion, the computer and robotic constructions, were already laid by the ancient Greek world. A stop at exhibits related to human needs, such as the therapenis and the oenochi of Philon, the hysplex and the lifting crane, illuminates unknown aspects of individual and public life and expands the visitor’s existing knowledge of antiquity
