“Parent Academy” Educational Program

We invite parents to attend the Parent Academy educational program which will be implemented by the school counselor, Dimitrios Karathanos, in three meetings at the Kalambaka Library. The program addresses issues of interest to parents and revolves around the concepts of family, children and school and the relationships that develop between them.

First Meeting: Wednesday 3 May 2017, 18.00-20.00

Topics: Family, Family life cycle – Is there an ideal family? Family structure and Function – Types of parents, Helping the children to solve their problems

Second Meeting: Wednesday 10 May 2017, 18.00-20.00

Topics: Interpersonal relationships in the family, Communication in the family, Child development – Children’s personality development, Discipline and boundaries – Fixed boundaries, loose boundaries

Third Meeting: Wednesday 17 May 2017, 18.00-20.00

Topics: School and family, Parental involvement – Communication between the family and the school, Cognitive functions – Types of learning, Behavioral problems –  Learning difficulties – Charismatic students.
