In the thematic workshop held on May 9, young and old celebrated International Europe Day!
The children learned that on 9 May we celebrate peace and unity in Europe which started with the “Schuman Declaration”. On 9 May 1950, French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman (1886-1963) called on Germany, France and other countries to a new form of political and economic cooperation. This landmark event marked the beginning of what is now the European Union and was intended to bring the citizens of the European states closer together.
Our young patrons got to know the countries of Europe, our neighbours, drew flags and made their own map, learning the importance of peace and prosperity for all nations!
