Meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Library

On Monday, January 31, the annual meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Library took place. The purpose of the meeting was to review the activities of the past year and to set new goals for the current one.
The meeting included topics such as the Library’s operation throughout the year, the increase of online activities, the support of users in learning new skills, as well as the challenges it faced due to the pandemic.
In addition, extensive reference was made to the collaborative work “Wood Carved Memories of 1821” and the virtual tour of the digital exhibition of wood carvings, the Library’s collaboration with the Trikala Penitentiary, as well as the Library’s participation in two scientific conferences in October 2021. At the core of the planning of actions for 2022, were the development of new synergies, the strengthening of extroversion and the provision of specialized services to vulnerable groups of the population.
Finally, a discussion followed with the members of the Advisory Committee, which consists of the Chairman of the Library, Mrs. Katerina Demoula, the Vice Chairman, Mr. Apostolos Eliopoulos, Mrs. Connie Mourtoupalas, Cultural Attaché of the Greek Embassy in the USA, the author Mr. Vangelis Eliopoulos, as well as representatives of the educational community, who presented their ideas and advice on the course of the Library, both physical and digital environment.
