On Thursday 2 June we had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Lakis Lazopoulos at the Library for the first presentation of his book “Other women wear your dresses”.
Mr. Lazopoulos narrated the audience, which was visibly moved, the chronicle of his beloved Tasoula’s struggle with cancer and the pain he felt after her loss. He referred to their common path, the years they lived together and the period when he was by her side, but not with her in a meaningful way. He shared memories that are etched in his memory and heart, “bared” his soul and his thoughts in front of the audience and described feelings of love, anger and confusion. His narration of the chronicle of his illness moved the attendees, who discussed with him the ephemeral nature of man and happiness, redemption, love, attention. Mr. Lazopoulos’ message through the pages of his book was that we should share our thoughts and wants with our loved ones before it is too late and not let happiness slip through our fingers.
