On Wednesday, October 21, at 7:00 pm, the Kalambaka Library gave comic book friends the opportunity to take an online tour, through the Zoom platform, at the Athens Comics Library.
Initially, the program coordinator Mrs. Vasilia Vaxevani gave a short tour of the area and talked about the revolution that comics brought to the reading habits of the public. He referred to the history and the establishment of the Library, the publications and the festival organized by the Athens Comics Library.
The audience had the opportunity to learn about well-known creators who are among the most acclaimed artists of the Comics scene such as Michalis Dialynas, Alan Moore, etc., while reference was made to famous titles such as “Maus”, “Spiff & Spaff”, “Naruto”.
Then, Ms. Vaxevani referred to the pedagogical character of comics and how they can be a complete educational tool, as it is a globally understood language that takes off the imagination of young and old.
Finally, the audience was given the opportunity to design their own comics in order to better understand the narrative nature of 9th Art!
Many thanks to the Athens Comics Library for the cooperation, as well as to Ms. Vaxevani who gladly accepted our invitation.
