In a pleasant atmosphere, under the imposing rocks of Meteora, in the courtyard of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, took place, on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 20, the event “Out of love for Greece, 1821-2021”, by the Region Of Thessaly and the French Institute of Larissa, on the occasion of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution. The basis of the joint action is the digital exhibition “For Greece out of love!”, An exhibition on the Revolution of 1821, in collaboration with the National Library of France (BNF).
The event was attended by the Vice President of the Library, Mr. Apostolos Eliopoulos, while the participation of the Library was related to the connection of local history with new technologies and their use by the educational and student community. Specifically, the students of the General Lyceum of Kalampaka, Mr. Dimitrios Bakos and Athanasios Papageorgiou, with the help of their teacher Mr. Grigorios Derekenaris, participated in the 3D scanning and printing of the bust of the local hero Papathivlios with V. The purpose of the workshop was to familiarize students with advanced technology and of course the future participation of educational units in respective workshops of the Library. The final result of the action was handed over by the student Dimitrios Bakos to the Regional Governor of Thessaly, Mr. Costas Agorastos, as a commemoration of the event.
The collaboration of the Library with the French Institute of Larissa continues, as screenings of French films are held in the courtyard of the Library, while the digital exhibition “For Greece out of love” will be held, which will be screened at the Library until 31/12/2021.
