On the morning of Wednesday, July 1, 2020, the second phase of the woodcarving workshop took place, which takes place in collaboration with the Wood Carving School of Kalambaka, the only public school with the specialty of Wood Carving – Decorative Furniture Craftsmen in Greece.
In the first phase, the children were engaged in the design of an object, specifically a fish, with a free hand. In the second part of the workshop, our little friends had the opportunity and the pleasure to watch the process of depicting the design they have painted on the wood. The children learned about decoration techniques, aesthetic rules, various types of tools and about the various types of wood. The purpose of the workshop was to give children a taste of the carving styles and the long–standing tradition of wood carving art.
We would like to thank Mr. Karamoutsios Antonios for the demonstration of the techniques and the implementation of the workshop. On Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., the third and final phase of the workshop will take place, where the children, using colors, will bring their wooden constructions to life!
