200 years since the Revolution against the Ottoman Emprire – Greece 2021
The Library participated in the milestone 200 years celebration since the Greek Revolution against the Ottoman Empire – Greece 2021 with the work Wood Carving Remembers 1821. It is a collaborative project with the Kalampaka Wood Carving School and Action Sponsor the company EREN Hellas.
The aim was to emphasize the intangible cultural heritage, concerning the Greek Revolution heroes’ wood carved portraits and objects construction, which were created by the school students under their teachers’ guidance.
The main pillar of the project was the promotion of woodcarving art with the 3D imaging technologies use, as the digital cultural reserve was made accessible through the Library’s website.
The result of the project was a digital exhibition creation, using 360-degree browsing technologies. In this way, the visitor has the opportunity to watch videos with the 3D scanning and printing process and get to know the creators and their works.
The digital collection provides the visitors the opportunity to view and download 3D portraits and objects models.
