Making the Distance Shorter

The Library in collaboration with the Trikala Police Department implements the program Making the Distance Shorter. The aim of the program is to promote the love for reading and to enhance the educational process.

As part of the program, material (books, board games, and museum kits) is borrowed to the Meteora Municipality remote schools. Visits to schools in the area take place after contacting the teacher in charge who expresses an interest in borrowing material. Then, the Mobile Police Unit undertakes the material collection from the Library, so it can be transferred to the school premises.

The Trikala Police’s contribution is invaluable, as it is a common goal of the contracting bodies to create a positive environment of continuous learning, promoting collaborative effort.
