On Friday, October 5th, the press conference for the Experiential Training Program for Livestock Breeders was held at the Library. The program is an initiative between the Library and the American Farm School of Thessaloniki. It will start in mid–November and end in April.
The interview was attended via video conference from the USA by the President of the Library, Katerina Dimoula, and the Vice President, Apostolos Iliopoulos. At the same time, the Director of the Library, Pepi Katsiamani, the Vice President of the American Farm School Iraklis Mousiadis, the Director of the School of Vocational Education Dr. Evangelos Vergos, the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Meteora, Dimitris Vourlitsis, the special associate of the Mayor of Trikala on operational and strategic planning issues, Harris Kalliaras, the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Trikala for Public Relations and Services, Alesta Sofia, and the President of Kastraki, Pericles Giannis, were at the Library.
It was discussed how the American School will offer knowledge while the Library will provide facilities to guarantee excellent cooperation between the two institutions. It was also mentioned that this initiative, for which there is already increased interest on the part of livestock farmers, will help Kalambaka and the surrounding area because livestock farmers will see production as a business and the promotion of local products in the Greek market will be strengthened. It was emphasized that each livestock farmer participating in the program will find answers to their own concerns. Finally, it was noted that this program is only the beginning of a long collaboration between the Library and the AFS.
